You have questions...
...we have answers!
We have done our best to anticipate any questions you may have about joining Jodanno Learning. You are also always welcome to email us for more information at any time!
Enrolling with Jodanno
To join Jodanno Learning, simply send us an email! Emails are read and answered by our teachers, so you will be working directly with the teachers to ensure your child is in the best possible class for them. Ms. Jodi's current availability will always be displayed on our website.
For students wishing to study with Ms. Jodi, students must be in grade 4 or above and already comfortable writing essays.
One-on-One and Group Classes
Once students have studied with Jodanno, it is very difficult to add new students to existing classes, due to differing levels. To avoid disruption to existing classes, new students will not be added to existing classes.
Jodanno will not build group classes; however, it is possible to have group classes up to a maximum of four students. A group class can be created by the parents, consisting of students that will all begin the new class at the same time. If you wish another student to join an existing class, contact us and we can discuss the possibility, otherwise no new students will be added to a group class.
A group class is considered to be 2 or more students. If a class no longer has 2 or more students, the remaining student's tuition will be billed at the one-on-one tuition level.
Tuition
Tuition will be calculated based on the number of classes in a calendar month. Jodanno will calculate and send out the tuition invoice before or on the 20th of each month. The tuition is due, in full, by the 28th of the invoice month via debit or credit card payment. More information about tuition payment will be sent with each invoice.
If a student joins mid-month, an invoice will be calculated and sent to the parent for the number of classes remaining in the month. Payment is due, in full, before the first class the student will be attending.
Tuition costs for will always be displayed on each teacher's page on this website. We believe that transparency in pricing is the only way to do business fairly. Jodanno may need to raise the price of tuition in the future. However, we want to reward parents for staying with us. Therefore, the price you pay when you first sign up is your price for life, for as long as your child has been continuously studying with us. If you decide to leave Jodanno and then wish to return, the new rates will then be applicable. Additionally, should a group class become a one-on-one class, the current one-on-one rates will be applicable.
Discounts
We do have two great ways to save on your tuition costs. We believe that you should be rewarded for helping us be a successful academy!
Family Reward
When more than one member of the same family studies with Jodanno, a 10% discount on the invoice total will be given. Every month, for as long as the family members are enrolled.
Referral Reward
If a new student joins Jodanno thanks to your referral, you will receive a 10% discount on your next month's tuition payment. There is no limit to how many referral rewards you can redeem! The only restriction is that the new student must pay their tuition for one month before we can apply your discount.
Late Payments
Starting January 2024, late payments without good reason could result in the immediate cancellation of the class. All invoices are due on or before the 28th of each month.
Class Cancellations and Refunds
If you notify Jodanno before invoices come out on the 20th of the month that your child will be absent during the subsequent month, the tuition will be calculated based on the number of classes your child will be attending.
For unexpected absences, with reasonable notice (4 hours prior to class) given, the tuition paid for the missed class will be credited to the next month's invoice. For example, if a class is missed in April, the tuition for that class will be deducted from your May invoice.
If insufficient notice (4 hours prior to class) is given, or a class begins as scheduled with the teacher present but the student fails to join, there will be no refund or credit for that class.
Refunds rather than credits will only be given if a class is cancelled by the academy. Otherwise, there are no refunds, just credit towards your next invoice.
Class disruptions due to poor Internet connection will not be refunded or credited unless it is the fault of the academy. Jodanno teachers are located in Canada, which has one of the fastest and most stable Internet networks in the world (after Korea, of course!)
Class Suspension
We understand that sometimes students have other obligations and need to take a break from studying with Jodanno. Please let us know if you need to suspend the class. However, note that in most cases Jodanno will not hold your class time for an extended period as there are other students waiting for available time. If more than two weeks of classes must be missed, the class will be cancelled and the spot will not be reserved. If there is availability and you wish to return, you will be welcomed back. However, do note that you will be re-enroled at the current tuition rates.
Class Requirements
Students will need a strong, stable Internet connection. It is recommended that students have both a primary means of connection, such as through Wifi, and a secondary connection, such as a mobile hotspot.
Students will also need a private email address (we recommend Gmail) to enrol in Google Classroom and to use Google Drive. If the student is under 13, they can use a parent's email address, as long as emails are checked regularly.
Instructions on how to obtain class materials, such as books and audio files, will be sent upon enrolment.
Progress Reporting
One key benefit of Jodanno Learning is that parents are connected directly to their child's teacher, not an academy administrator or director. Parents can email the teacher at any time for information about their child's progress. Additionally, parents can ask their child to view lessons and homework on Google Classroom.
Student Safety
Another benefit to studying online is your child's safety. Your child will be in the comfort and safety of their own home.
Ms. Jodi has worked in multiple academies in both Korea and Vietnam and has been a trusted educator for many years. She has clear police records from every country she has ever lived in.
